I know I'm getting real close to needing a new comp but I need a little help in the mean time.

My computer has this issue whenever power is completely shut off from the comp. When I shut it down normally I can turn it on no problem. BUT, whenever I turn the powerstrip off OR the power goes out in the whole house (which happened recently), the computer won't turn on at all and the ABIT motherboard has a little green light that blinks on and off.

Obviously the first inclination is a dead MoBo. BUT this has happened before and what I did was turn the comp off completely (by the switch on the back of the comp) and after a day or so, turn it back on and the light stops blinking and I can turn the comp on and go about my busniess.

What's going on?

Have you tied using a different power supply?

I don't believe you have to wait a day. Just unplug the power cord from the back of the PC to let all the juice drain out of the system. Then reboot. I wouldn't think that would take more than 10 minutes.
