I have a whirlpool (about 5 years old). Two weeks ago, the heat started working intermittently... Now, it does not heat at all...

It was suggested it might be the coils on the gas valve? Do others agree?

If so, how do I replace them? Where do I get them? Lowe's?

Thanks for the help!

Dave

What type of dryer you are talking about here? You mention gas, so you do not refer to a dryer with electric heating elements. But there are so many different gas models that without a type number indication it will be difficult to pinpoint the problem exactly...

Besides that : do you have the possibility to open up the dryer and see what is (or is not) happening precisely ?

It's gas, but has an electric ignition. I don't have the model, etc... I'm at work and it's at home... I'll try to send more information tomorrow...

I have taken the back off and able to get to whatever part of the dryer needs to be looked at...

Thanks!
