Hp pav dt6000. Problem is sound. The ear phone produce sounds . No sound will come from speakers on the lap top.
I have tried updating... no such luck.
Any ideas would help.

The computer is actually generating sound... plugging headphones into the headphone jack and hearing sound confirms that. So, we know the speakers on the computer are bad.

For $10-20 I would pick up some cheap portable speaker and plug them into the headphone jack when I'm working in one place, or work with the headphones. Not sure it's worth the expense to fix builtin laptop speakers.
