40 yr old Carrier Weathermaker thermo to Hunter 44110 programmable

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Carrier is a 9 wire 40 yr old round thermostat.
I had a programmable years ago and just matched the color code, didn't like it and took it off.
These new programmable don't go by color.

Carrier Basic Colors Red Or Yel Wh Grn with 4 tan numbered 1-4.
Split system with gas furnace.
Thermostat diagram:
Clock positions counterclockwise:
11- left R/Tan wired together
9- T5
7- O
5- T2
3-Y
1-W
SLIGHTLY LEFT & BELOW W- T1
Center-G
SLIGHTLY LEFT & BELOW G- T4

HUNTER HAS:

G, RC,RG,Y,W with RC & RH jumper

What is the proper way to wire?
Got a good deal from Lowe's on the Hunter.

You have the wrong thermostst.
Is this a old heat pump system?

No, I don't think heat pumps were available 40 years ago.
This is a Carrier split unit with gas furnace inside.
I believe it is a 3 ton. Model 386A005310.
Other than the extra tan wires, the 5 wire basic colors seem to be there.
I hooked up a programmable years ago according to wire colors, but the new ones with RH, RC, etc. I can't match.
On the thermostat it doesn't have RC, RH just the color of the wires. RG is supposed to be RH (slip of the keyboard letter).

It just seemed to be to many wires for a standard HVAC system. Carrier did have a outdoor sensor in the condensing unit years ago so that could be what the extra wires are for.

Here are a couple of wiring configuration schedules
