Okay, my question is this" I have an aggressive type of multiple sclerosis, so I have all the real bad symptoms. I have been taken out of work since 2006. But I still have to pay child support, rent, and all of my other medical bills. How do I go about getting some kind of help? I was in the military and I was told if I starting having signs of the disease within seven years of discharge, they will take care of it. Well I was hospitalized in 2000 with viral mengitis, after that I started feeling weak and unbalanced, I got out in 1996. How do I go about getting the military to step up?

Have you gone in person to the VA and talked with them about this? If you want to inquire about disability contact the Social Security Disability office. You will need to fill out forms and this could take quite a while (years sometimes).

Check with nearest Veterans Administration office:Compensation and Pension Homepage (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs) (http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/index.htm)

And Disabled American Vets: http://www.dav.org/membership/join_dav.html
