I have a Harbor Breeze Avian ceiling fan that uses a 100W 120v Double Ended Halogen bulb, and they do tend to be hot.

Is there any kind of alternate bulb (LED, fluorescent, etc), or a conversion kit that I might use?

I have not yet heard of such a thing. If it is out there it is very new.
