I have some doubts regarding taxes deducted when I am on CPT (Curriculum Practical Training.. )

1) Is the tax deductions same for CPT and OPT ?
2) How much is the tax deductions when I am on CPT or OPT ?
3) And does the Tax deduction different in different States ?
4) I am making 30$ per hour so my gross comes to 2192 for 2 weeks.. And I have been deducted 417$ and that comes to around 19% I think its too high especially when I am still on CPT could someone tell me whether this % figure is right or wrong ?

1) Yes.

2) Withholding is determined by how many exemptions you claim on the W-4. The lower the number of exemptions, the more that is withheld.

3) Each state has its own tax rates.

4) Is the $2,192 your first paycheck, or is it the 5th paycheck? It makes a difference.
