My husband has a daughter who's 16 now, he has not gotten to see her or talk to her for almost 6 years now. Her mother, his ex-wife, will not help in any way with this problem. He pays child support and always has. The divorce decree says he is to have visitation every other weekend and he never gets to see her. I have witnessed with my own eyes him calling every day, I mean every day leaving message after message trying to talk to her, he has even went as far as calling his ex at work so she would have to answer begging to at least get to talk to his daughter and she replies with a cussing and hangs up on him. He sends Christmas, birthday, valentines and every other occasion cards and up until the past year sent flowers for all occasions and she just flat out won't have anything to do with him. I know you're wondering... What did he do to her?? Nothing... well other than divorce her mom and she said he ruined her family. We have only been married a few months so I haven't been around for the whole 6 years but I have witnessed enough to know that he gets hurt daily by her.
We pay over $200 a week on a kid that will have nothing to do with us and slams the door in our face every time we try again.
My question is does anyone know what he has to do to give up parental rights in the state of Kentucky?
I know this sounds harsh and I said no way when it was first mentioned but I now see that this is going no where.
If anyone can help we'd really appreciate it.

Even if he gives up his rights he would still be required to pay child support.
Child support and visitations are treated as two separate issues.
All he can do is go back to court to try and get his visitations enforced.

In some courts, if the custodial parent refuses to let the father see the child , custody could go to your husband
