Hi,
Latley it has been raining heavily in Toronto (even everywhere in the wolrd! ). Somehow every time it rains so strong I get water in the basement under the furnace!! No water comes from the windoows or walls anywhere in the basement, just under the furnace!! I am not sure whether there is or are some outlets to allow air from outside and these outlets are getting clogged with water ot debris and hence water is sipping into the basement?

Anyone aware of what should I do or where is ths water coming from>

I hv checked the drain and all is OK. There are two pipes in front of the house coming out of the ground and 4 inches high. While reading on the web they mention that these could be the intake and exhaust pipes for the furnace. While it was pouring rain the area around the pipes was full of water. Are these pipes for the furnace? There are no other pipes either on the side of the house or on the roof.

I hope not for the furnace. A high efficiency furnace pipes are supposed to be well above snow line. In Toronto Canada the line is much higher than 4 inches.
