My Craftsman lawn mower LT2000 has a Intek 18.5hp OHV engine, I done maintenance on it by replacing the oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter and spark plug, It started OK and ran for a while letting me mow the lawn once, then next time it stopped running shortly after I started mowing the lawn, I discovered that I'd put the fuel filter in backwards I turned it around but the problem came back. I replaced the fuel filter and tried again it ran for a little while but stopped starved of gas. I have plenty of gas in the tank. If I leave it awhile it will run again but starve of gas again. I pulled the carb assy. Off and cleaned it, but the problem is still the same. Any suggestions.

I think I figured it out, I checked and found the solenoid valve on the carb. Assy wouldn't pull in with the battery unless I helped it overcome the spring, I measured the voltage and it was under 8vdc. I replaced the battery. Oh! I attached the solenoid valve to an adjustable power supply and it took 9vdc before the valve pulled in on it's own.
