I'm 15 years old turning 16 in three months. I met this guy who just turned 19. I have no intent of any sexual activity until I am married. My uncle and aunt have known him for a few years and they love the guy. They invited him over their house to talk to me. Mind you these people are level-headed, smart, successful people. But my mom thinks that it's illegal for me to date him.
I live in Michigan f that detail is needed

It is not illegal and in some states the year of consent is 16.

If your mom tells you not to date him, then you can't date him, he is a adult and if he would see you without her permission, there would or could be issues of even interfering with custody or other crimes a fast thinking DA could come up with if the parents complain.
If your parents are OK, it is not illegal, but not a good idea since most 19 year olds are thinkng about sex more than you are.

Age of consent in Michigan is 17, but if he is older than 18 I believe you must be also, so if he touches you below the neck or kisses you, it is a sexual assault on a minor, and dating will lead to touching and kissing eventually, so I would avoid this until you're not a minor anymore.

Welcome to AMHD. Short answer, no; but what do you mean by "date"?

I say if you know what your doing and can say "no" or have a conversation with him saying that this this and this is anot aloud till a certain time and he agree's then you should go to your mother and tell her what you two have just discussed because its always better for her to know from you rather then finding it out on her own and if you talk to her with clear respect and act like an adult she'll be more willing to think about it.
