I believe my drivebelt for my riding mower is shot. All kinds of wear and tear. Keeps getting jammed on the 2nd drive wheele under the seat. What is the easiest way to replace this belt? Do I need to remove the seat cover? Is there a tension adjustment I can use to loosen the belt for removal then retighten after replacement? Is there any tricks to setting the tension to keep it from coming off track and jamming up between the 2nd drive wheele and the small belt guard which in my opinion is too small to adequitly do the job!

Howdy. I have to change my drive belt. Manual says (looks easy)
1. Lower deck all the way.
2. Remove belt guards by removing self tap screws.
3. Remove belt keeper rod from around engine pulley.
4. Insert 3/8 " ratcet (set to loosen) into the square hole in idler
Bracket on left side of deck surface.
5. Pivot ratchet towards front of tractor to relieve belt tension.
6. With tesion relieved , carefully remove belt from left hand spindle
Pulley.
Backwards to reinstall. Hope is simple as sounds!!
Apparently all done from top, thankfully!

Check the pulleys for damage, if the belt keeps jumping off it could be pulley related. Then again if the belt is in bad enough shape, it could just be being caused by the belts condition.
