I screwed up. My frig (GE model GFSS2KEXA SS) is 2 weeks old and was making perfect ice. Bottom freezer with ice maker. I was working in the kitchen and had to move the frig. I did NOT turn off the ice maker, but turned off the water. Moved the frig back but did NOT turn on water. Ice maker was on, but water to the frig was closed. After 1 week and the lack of ice I realized I did not turn on the water. Turned on the water but no ice. The manual says if ice maker is on and the water is off it could damage the water valve. Yesterday I replaced the water valve and now I'm getting water to the ice maker. Yesterday there was no ice cubes only a block of ice in the ice bin, seems water is overflowing into the ice bin. This morning I still had another block of ice in the bin but I also had about 15 cubes Any suggestions on why water is overflowing into the ice bin and very few cubes being made.
Another question - would the original warranty or the extended service plan covered my screw up.
