If a person is practicing property management without a license in the District of Columbia, aren't there consequences ? Fines ? Criminal charges ? etc..

From what I can tell, yes, Property Managers must be licensed and the Licensing Board oversees those licenses, receives reports of misconduct and complaints.

Probably are fines, possibly criminal charges.

Hello gr:

It's not as simple as that. It is possible for a corporation, or other business entity, which is owned by NON Realtors, to work in the area of property management, IF they hire properly licensed people to DO the actual property management.

Plus, it would also depend on which particular license you're referring to. They may need a city, county or state license in addition to the individual licenses of the workers.
