Hello,

Monday, a/c condenser fan was making loud noise and within an hour of us noticing this,
The condenser fan was froze up
We replaced the condenser motor and capacitor .

It appeared to be working fine for about an hour after new condenser motor and capacitor was in. House temp went down 4 degrees while it was on.

But now, condenser fan is moving much slower than normal, then the fan shuts off.

Any ideas what else could be wrong? When a condenser motor goes bad, is there another part that is also affected that we need to replace in addition?
Any help is greatly appreciated its blazing hot here!

Thank you

First you have to check what is causing the fan motor to slow down. Start the AC again, and check the temperature of the fan unit : is the temp rising excessively while the fan speed is slowing down?
If so either the fan motor is incorrectly wired, or the capacitor is of an incorrect value.
