Can a 20 yr from Las Vegas Nevada sue for back child support from her father who lives in Aberdeen Washington. He knows that she exsists and refuses to have anything to do with her. She knows his name and where he lives and he has NEVER paid anything to help the mother out with the child. Do I have a right to sue this man?

I always was told no. I had 4 kids and their dad never paid child support and I was hoping they could get something out of him when they were old enough to go after him themselves.

If you are not the mother then no. The only person that can do that is the mother of the child(ren). Hope that was short and simple enough for you if you have more questions please feel free to ask.

Your mother would be the only one with a legal standing, and if there was no custody order or no child support order in place before, not all states would allow a case to even be filed at this point. If there is a old order in place, the mother could push for back payments.

Remember it is money to be paid and used by the parent to raise the child, so any money for back support would go to the parent or guardian who raised the child
