From what guys that have been locked up told me ssi cuts their checks off until they get out.
I don't believe they hold him responsible for child support while he is there since he would have no way of paying. I can ask a few guys in my neighborhood to make sure that is right.

Normally child support would buid up what is due, but could be looked at when he gets out and normally lowered to the min due. The SSI would stop since he is in state custody.

The other worry factor if you want another one, in most states, the custody parent and ask for the rights of the other parent to be taken away completely if they are sentenced to prison for a felony for a long time.
So it is possible he could lose all rights to his children if the other parent wants to do that, and your state allows it.

This was just addressed by someone else in another thread - this is a LEGAL thread. You have not provided info. This is not a relationship board or a self help board. Please stick to legal advice if you can.

I realize you are in middle school so perhaps this is not the board for you.
