I am disabled and have a house and a car . The car is paid in full, but I owe on the house and have two secured loans and an equity loan. Because my income has recently gone from 3000. A month to 750. A month, would it be wiser for me to file for bankruptcy on my credit cards that I am in default on? Would I still be able to keep my house? I really hate to do this but I can not afford the credit cards minimum payments any more and I have already cut them up over a year ago when I became disabled. I had great credit but I have Medical bills out the ying yang and am a single parent.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well why not wait and see if you can actually afford your home on this income nad if you are going to have other medical bills latter.

They can't garnish your diability ( if that is what the 750 a month is) and I don't know how you are going to eat, pay electric and car insurance and gas and pay three liens on a home.

So write them tell them what has happened, and ask them not to contract you further about the debt. Then all they may do latter is sue you, and get a judgement. When and if they start to get a judgement you can decide what you need to do, but most likely you are months if not a few years before that happens **** OK they will do it tomorrow if I say this
But when you get notice of the hearing in court is when you can start to better address this issue.
