We have well water with 7 gallons per minute, and there are two issues we have noticed. The first is the cold water hose to the Washer continues to clog with sand, and I clean it
About three times per week. The second is the cold water works great in the tub, but Hot water will flow fine for 2 minutes, and then begin to lose pressure and barely trickle out.
Hot water pressure in the shower is also starting to be effected. Is this due to sand in the pipes from the well ? Or is it something else.

Is this due to sand in the pipes from the well ? Or is it something else. That would be one of my guesses. The other would be mineral build up in a hot water heater which gets into your system and affects the hot water faucets. Ill need the brand name of each faucet that's affected and a description of the problem. Also the age of the faucets.
Now let's look at your hot water heater. Let me show you how to maintain it.
For long life and fewer troubles you should keep your heater clear of mineral build-up by FLUSHING NOT DRAINING on a regular schedule. Attach a hose to the boiler drain at the bottom of the tank. With the pressure on, open the boiler drain and let it run until the water runs clear. You will see a spurt of red,(rust) followed by white or yellow grains,(lime or calcium carbonate). This shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Do this monthly to keep it clear. Now flush out your hot water lines on ALL fixtures that are affected . Now pull each aerator and clean the screens. Be sure you put them back togather the same way you took them out. Don't forget to flush it out every month. Your heater will thank you for it. Hope this helps, Tom
