I have a whirlpool imperial dryer,that when you take something out of the dryer and don't turn the knob to the off position it will keep heating. Timer does not seem to be working. Would that be it or it and other problems.Help

One of the heat on/off switches must have burned into a permanent closed position.
You have to get that repaired as soon as possible, as this is very dangerous.
Time to call the repair man!
