Hi

I have stayed in US (California Bay Area) for less that 183 days on L1 visa. I am single. Can I ask for the rebates for the taxes that I have paid as I stayed for less than 183 days in one financial year?

If I can do so, What is the procedure to do so?

Any explanation on this regard would be helpful.

Thanks.

I believe the tax rebate is only for people who have earned at least $3000.00 and filed a tax return for 2007. As far as being a citizen and living here only 183 days, I cannot say for sure. Go to IRS.gov and read the FAQs on the stimulus check.

You must file nonresident tax return. Any tax benefit (for less than 183 days in the U.S.) depends upon tax treaty between the U.S. and your country.
