Hi my daughter is now 15 months but its been like this since she was a new born but evertime she went to the doctor for her shots they would give her up to 5 shots at a time and I don't know if they are doing this because she has medicaid insurance... but I just want to know if this is safe... thank you

You should be conversant with all of your child's immunizations and a record should be given to you by the doctor every time she has one at the appropriate age.
Her immunizations must be documented in the doctor's office.
Please visit this website to up date yourself, and print it out if necessary so you can keep track.

Many of the vaccinations are given in combinations... or several individual vaccines at the same visit. Some parents are more comfortable with having a doctor who will work with them on which ones, and when, to have them. Often you can ask about postponing some, to have more time between them, or having them given individually if that would help you to be more comfortable.

It's perfectly safe and effective. Has your child had any reaction other than soreness and possibly a low grade fever?
The shots will begin to taper off about now and get fewer and farther between.

OK thank you... no she didn't have any bad reaction except for the chicken pox shot I think it was that gave her a pretty high fever but they said that usually happens with that shot... my mother works at a nursing home and she claimed the doctors and nurses she works with said its not a good idea and isn't safe... but she has been OK up until now... my mother just makes me nervous... I thought it was OK... but thanks for your time

Yeah, it's fine. Nothing to worry about. I give my babies their first immunizations before I even discharge them from the hospital. Better to have them immunized than to be exposed and have no immunization to whatever they are exposed to.
