Do people with bipolar mania have special talent?

The mania side of the emotion probably makes the person feel invincible but the talents are the same during in the depressed side. So I don't think special talents come with bipolar mania.

There have been many creative and intelligent people with Manic-Depressive disorder (BiPolar I)... a few likely are Teddy Roosevelt, Robin Williams, Ted Turner(Created CNN), and so on. My father was unfortunate to have this disorder which he passed down to his children... he was a very talented artist(watercolor, sketching, etc), a well known amateur golfer in our area, dashing, a fabulous story teller, anything he did, he was the best. He wasn't a clear thinker, however, because he was damaged by an Irish Catholic upbringing, sad to say, he was so terrified of death and hell he took the Irish antidote to Catholicism, lots of alcohol.

Not all folks who have this severe disease are special creative and talented people. It is just that there were quite a few folks in history and current life who exhibited/exhibit signs of mania and depression in their lives.
