Recently my ex and I broke up after 3 years. This has been such a painful process that I find it hard to function at home and work. While at home I sleep day and night, and while at work I can't seem to focus. I feel very certain there is another female in his life because he would disappear and not answer his phone. When I confront him with this he would get very upset and tell me that I am the one cheating and so forth. This was the man I wanted to marry, but he never seemed to put any action in this area. I feel like this is the best move on both of our parts, but the pain is so intense for me. I really do love him. What should I do?

Getting over someone is the hardest thing to do, but it can be done and only makes you stronger. I realize in the past when someone accused you of cheating, and your not, mostly they are or is insecure.

The only thing you can do is keep yourself busy and do things that you enjoy to help ease your mind. Everyday it will get easiler and this will be a valuable lesson learned for the future. Sometimes things don't go as planned and your can be blinded when your in love, but you see everything clearer when it comes to an end.

Self help books helped me a lot and my friends and made me a stronger person, so you will survive and find a better mate in the future.

I struggled for a long time getting over my 8 year relationship. I still find myself missing him at times, but I know it's really over. I accept this now. We even share a child together.

I know, it's like losing an arm, isn't it? I tell you, the pain is what it is, there's really no magic wand. Just time and new stuff... that's the only cure.

So, what new stuff can you get into? Something you've wanted to do but been putting it off? Do it! Old friends you've been neglecting... invite them over! Or go out!

Distraction works as good for you as it does for a magician, take your mind off what's really going on until it's too late, everythings done, the show's over, and you realize it's OK now.
