Why can't I burn two or more folders containing same-name files, such as "VTS_01_1.VOB"? The files with the same name are in different folders so I though it'd work fine, but nope. And neither does changing the names. Im using Nero if that helps.

Hi,
The vob file names are not valid file names, and won't be recognized.
Try this, see if it works:
Use the IFOEDIT to create IFO files.
Click on the "Create IFO" button, and browse to the first vob file.

Best of luck. If this doesn't solve it, please post back.

Have you tried burning as a DATA DVD ?
Are you trying to burn all of the files to the Video_TS folder ?
I use Roxio and one of the options that gives me is a DVD builder program.
This allows for setting up a custom menu system.
I'm not sure if Nero has the same functionality but I would have thought so.
May be worth a try.

Would a data DVD play the videos on my DVD player?

Hi, Johnny,
The info I got about the vob files not being recognized as valid file names was from other research; and was in regards to Nero not recognizing them.

The above link is used as reference for something you might want to check on, and that is:
This particular person was using Dynex DVD's, which were called Premium. He had the same problem as you. Then, he tried Memorex and/or Maxell and his system worked fine. Just a thought on the brand of DVD you are using.
Best of luck.
