I have a Home Depot house brand kitchen faucet set with side sprayer. When the water is turned on, the sprayer will not give way to the faucet --- it just keeps going and going.
It is very frustrating. Can someone please assist? Thanks in advance.

Hi Groucho...
Most likely the diverter is stuck or malfunctioning. You will need to disassemble your faucet and SPOUT and access the diveter to clean or replace entirely.
Check out the picture below. The diverter assembly is marked as #5.
I know it is not your faucet, but should give you an idea of what I am talking about. Note that some faucets have this diverter on the back side of the faucet... just to make it even more fun!
Anyway, disassemble, clean/clear diverter, grease up the orings with a plumber's grease or silicone grease and reset the spout and see what happens.
May need to replace the diverter.. and if home depot can't get you one too fast, may just want to replace the faucet entirely!
Let us know what you think... MARK

Thanks MP2008 (Mark). I'll give it a try today. I will say that I my history of plumbing repairs is that I have easily taken what could have been a $5 job and quickly made it into "call the plumber - $250" job.
Again, thanks for your speedy reply. Will keep you posted. - Marc

I generally agree with Mark but have slightly different read on this problem. What if the diverter is doing exactly what it is suppopsed to be doing, diverting the water because the sprayer button is stuck open. I might try disassembling the sprayer or soaking in CLR for a few minutes. Both sets of instructions are goood options to try.

Bob... that would certainly be the EASIEST place to start!
Would be nice if he reads this BEFORE disassembling entire unit!
