Can an employer place medical coverage on you and then deduct from payroll without your consent? My husband is already well covered on our family medical through my employer. He doesn't need double coverage. Hisnew mployer says he cannot change this until the enrollment period next year... in the mean time--his payroll is impacted $300+ per month for someothing we don't need or want.

Legally the company had to have your husband sign forms saying he either wanted the coverage or signed a waiver to be covered. Have no idea how they got around this one. I'd ask hubby if he remembers signing anything like that in the first place. I have signed health insurance waivers many times as I don't need the companies coverage. Can't imagine them having that kind of noncancellable type of coverage. Have him speak to the HR people and have them show him where he can't cancel this unwanted coverage. $300 a month is not chump change to do without.

It is correct when he went to work, he had to sign that he either wanted the coverage or he did not want the coverage, the company will have to provide the forms he signed for the coverage.

If he signed to have the insurance, then under most companies he can not change it until the open enrollment time
