Hello, I’m Interested in starting business in Philadelphia for young ladies to help build some self confidents, self esteem... with some much crime and killing we need to sometimes to know that it is another way of life but not only do I want to be able to have these ladies to be able have a chance to win $1000 and have fashion shows and different way of life.

I know I have a very great idea but not really shore if I need business licenses?

My idea was to raise the $1000 Giveaway.
By having: Car Washes, Fish Fry, Sell Water Ice, ETC

Willing to pay out my pocket to start and rent space.

But also want to become non-profit.

What should I do.
  ;) ;)

Speak with the mayor of your town, he might fund it.

You will actually have to form a non profit corporation, get a license, and apply to the IRS and perhaps your state revenue department to be reconsised as a non profit, you will receive a approval letter from the IRS.

After that you can also apply for federal grants, and esp if you are working perhaps in the innter city there is often money for varoius groups.
