I am looking at purchasing a Snapper Model LT12 riding mower.

I would appreciate any information regarding reliability, age of this model, availability of spare parts and attachments.

I understand that this in an older model (circa 1990) but the one for sale seems to be in good shape starts right up, runs smooth, cuts well, and seems solid in all respects.

Asking price is $400.00 which does not seem to bad given the price of new mowers of this type.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The parts should be readily available from a snapper dealer. The realibility is excellent. The price is very fair sounding. The main thing to be replaced will be the spindle bearings every couple of years, but that is not too bad of a job and if you do it yourself, not too costly. To prevent the replacement evey couple years, preventive maintenance is important, keep the deck clean, and keep the spindles filled with an ample amount of grease through the grease fittings. Otherwise, snapper builds a very realiable unit. The body and frame is rugged and the deck stands up to the test of time fairly well also.
