I want to build a stair platform and anchor it to my home. My foundation is old concrete blocks. What's the best way to anchor the wood stair platform to my home so it doesn't slide when we step on it? It will sit on the driveway, and serve as a step to our entry door.

What tools to drill into the block, and what size/type bolts or screws to go through the wood and into the block?

Thank you for your time.

Your stairs should not slide if you make 2 attachment points. On the concrete block I would installa pressure treated 2x10 glue and screwed into the block. Make sure you use an exterior grade construction adhesive and something like a Tapcon. Your other attachment point is at the ground. The end of the staircase does not just sit on top of the ground. There should be a plate at the ground that is securely attached to the ground either by a small footing or rods driven deep, again use pressure treated for ground contact in this case.
