Lately when I shut down my computer I frequently (but not always) get a window at the end of the process that says "Finalizing Program tosOBEX" and I must click on "finalize now" in order for the shut down process to be completed. Whatīs going on?

Do you use a bluetooth device with your computer? Is it a laptop?

If it's not, tosOBEX is part of your Bluetooth stack and can be disabled if not something you need. Saves on system resources, too.

Laptops come with a lot of stuff that can be disabled/uninstalled to enhance performance. Just a thought.

Ok thank you. I donīt know why it just started appearing. Iīve had the computer for over two years. How would I disable it?

You can go into CONTROL PANEL > ADD/REMOVE PRGRAMS and uninstall anything having to do with Bluetooth.

Next, go to START > RUN > msconfig

Click on the STARTUP tab, and maximize the column that has the full pathnames to the programs that are listed. UNCHECK anything having to do with bluetooth or in a path with Bluetooth in the name.

While you're in there, uncheck anything else you KNOW you don't want running in the background every time you start your computer. For instance, my Adobe Acrobat Reader used to load a little piece of itself, I turned that off. It will load when I need it.

Now reboot.
