I want to run an additional outlet from an existing one . You can see the back of it in the picture. It is an outlet from the kitchen which isn't being used. I know I need a GFI for the bathroom. Can I do this?9062

Not if you want it to be legal.
You CANNOT tap off a kitchen receptacle for a bath receptacle. The only legal way is to run a new circuit for this, or tap off another bath receptacle.

Just because this one receptacle is supposedly not being used I bet it is on a circuit with several others in the kitchen. If you do use this receptacle for your feed you'll soon find out why it was a BAD idea.

I will check and see what else is on the circuit. It's actually the wall for the breakfast area and it's the only plug on that wall. I guess I could go into the attic and tie into the bathroom outlet and drop my wire from the attic. The bathroom outlet is around a corner and I know how hard that is to tie into from running electrical outlets in my sunroom.
