My thermostat was knock off the wall and broke so we bought another one but for some reason it will just keeping running when the heat or ac is on the only way it will turn off is if I turn it off anyone know what could be wrong thanks

Did you right down exactly where each wire went on old tstat,, direction should have come with new tstat,, really sounds like you may have wired it up wrong
