Are you allowed to work for somebody else while you are on WC and not working for your current employer?

If your out on workmans comp, I would be very careful. You are either out on WC or your working,, one or the other

If you do, keep looking over your shoulder because I - or someone like me - might just be following you around.
It is a crime to swear you are unable to work, accept benefits - and then work, either on or off the books.
And if you are found out, you pay the money back - with penalties and interest and hope you are not criminally charged.

Oh, lol.. Not to worry. :D lol I can sleep well at night and have no need to look over MY shoulder. I didn't THINK it was legal. This is regarding the very same person that is living in my friends house that isn't paying the rent on time, yet can afford to. Psst.. she is claiming it to the IRS not to mention the whole entire world is renting illegally where she lives. (She has asked him, nicely, to move out the end of the month.)
She's been so upset about the situation and mentioned the WC issue to me and thought.. hmmmm.. you might have something over this guy... so I threw it out here.
Thanks JudyKT... appreciate your more than eager and concise response! :) Maybe there IS a silver lining on my friends cloud after all! :o
Have a nice weekend and I certainly DO hope you "- or someone like [you] - might just be following [him] around." ;)

Glad it's not you - this guy is playing a dangerous game, one both the employer and carrier would find interesting.

Noooo.. its not me.. and I thought you would think that. Not at all. I am gainfully employed and love my job doing a service to the community. :) I'm not about to put my neck in a noose. I have too much I'd be giving up, but I will help a friend in need.
Hey.. she's my good friend... I just want to help her anyway I can legally. She's been more than nice to this guy, not that he's a bad person, but taking advantage of her good nature is NOT NICE! She lives alone, has no family here and working her butt off trying to make it so she does not lose her house. She doesn't need somebody leaching off her to make things worse for her financially.
He's really upsetting me and if there are some 'goods' on him and he DOESNT move out..... well perhaps he'll get his free room and board elsewhere! ;)
