My grandmother is the primary card holder on 2 credit cards she has me on as an authorized user. My uncle is her power of attorney and doesn't know anything about it. She doesn't want him to know. The limits are just about maxed after the interests rates kicked in and went up. I make all the payments on time everymonth. What happens if something were to happen to her? I would still pay the debt if it isn't paid off yet, but can my Uncle do anything.

If you are authorized then you are responsible if she passes away, for the debt on the cards. It may become a burden for you so suggest you get that uncle with POA to help you decide what to do.

If she passes away, power of attorney ends, her debts would or could become part of her estate, so who ever is listed in her will to handle her estate will have to deal with it.
Also power of attorney merely allows him to sign for her, she does not have to tell him, and if she does, he can not do anything about it, as long as she is OK with it..

Loan Guy, you will have to explan to me how the surviving auth. User of the credit card is not responsible for the debt after the other passes away. Do you mean, they can't come after her for dilinquent or overdue balances?
Your 'disagreement' lacks an explanation.

Well my grandma didn't want him to know but now that she at the point where she needs some care, my uncle has taken over everything. He has taken over her bank accounts and all. I understand that. I check the accounts daily on line and Now I found out that the credit cards are cancelled. So he had to find out and cancel them ( which I understand) but my husband was wondering if he could take legal action? My grandma and I drew up a paper and she sighned it with us and we are making all payments for almost a year. Uncle hasn't contacted us or us him on it. We were never close and went years without seeing each other.
