My mother purchased 2 one gallon blueberry plants. 1 blueray, and 1 bluecrop. She wants to transplant them into her garden. Is there any special requirements?

I would dig the whole twice the size and as deep as the container. Break up the root ball and cover well with dirt then water.

How far a part should she space them and how far down in the ground does she plant them

A couple of feet apart. Plant them as deep as the root ball.
*edit*... when she digs the hole unless your soil is very rich you may want to add some cow manure.

And remember blueberries like acid soil so use Miracid. Treat them like azalea or rhododendrons

Oh, and don't forget to put netting over these bushes once the fruit has set otherwise you will be happily feeding all the birds in the neighborhood juicy berries. A friend of mine has a whole backyard of blueberry bushes and he has to net them up as soon as the bees pollinate his bushes or he has zero fruit to pick. Wow are they ever delicious! Be sure to pick them as they ripen and then eat right away or freeze or can the berries as they don't last more than a day or so before they get old. My friend had so many berries he would take them to work and sell them at $2 a pint and would sell out every year. I bought 10 pints from him and enjoyed the berries that I froze for months on end.

We are totally forgetting about bears. Yes, lions and tigers and bears.
