My multi-year-old Kenmore Heavy Duty Wrinkle Guard I (I love it!) just stopped mid-dry. It was on timed cycle. Now, it won't start in any mode. I've opened and closed door for any trip switch problem. I've tried different modes. The timer/mode knob has no variance in feel as I move from one mode to another; only a click is heard/felt as the knob is turned ending a mode. There was no burning smell or cord melt. It doesn't appear to be a venting problem. Is it a timer? A thermal fuse? A belt? A sensor? Although it is an old dryer, I'd repair it if it doesn't cost more than a third or so of a new one. Your thoughts, please. Thanks.

This post (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/appliances/kenmore-dryer-not-starting-209359.html) might be helpful.

The thermal fuse (http://www.partselect.com/assets/partimages/345113_1_M.jpg) would be a good first guess, and a cheap/easy fix.

Best of luck,

This just happened to mine and the repair guy is telling me it is the motor.
