Hey, thanks for taking the time to read. I have a well system with a pump in the well. I was reading another person that had 2 pumps, one outside the well. I am looking at an inexpensive way to raise pitiful pressure. Can I purchase a pump/tank/bladder unit and install it in my crawl space and adjust for increased pressure? I can get one fairly cheap and was wondering if there are any flaws in my reasoning.
Thanks again for the help, mine and all the others that you've helped.

Hi Clancy,
Why not simply up the cut out pressure in your pump control box?
If you have a square "D" control box,(see image) let me show you how.
First turnoff the power at the breaker box, then pull the cover off the pressure switch and you will see two spring loaded bolts secured with nylon nuts. One tall, one short. To increase the cut in pressure, turn the nut on the tall bolt down. To increase the cut out pressure,(that's the one that will give you more pressure) turn the nut on the short bolt down. This should give you the additional pressure you desire. Good luck Tom

Hey, thanks to speedball for the reply. I have a pump down at the bottom of a 4" PVC pipe. Don't know if it has an adjustment. Are you familiar with these. My girlfriend had a plumber out a couple of years ago and he said he couldn't raise the pressure on the system. I'm not at all familiar with these and am a little hesitant to try to pull it out. Any advice EXTREMELY appreciated. Thanks for all the help.

Hey Clancy,
Are you telling me that you have a submersible pump at the bottom of the well or just a pump that's recessed at the base of a piece of 4" PVC? Every pump has a pressure control box, (see image) and yours is no exception. Your plumber was just blowing smoke. Locate the control box by following the wires to the box. Let me know what you find. Will do. I think it is a pump made to fit inside the pipe. I will follow wires and see. Thanks
