Does anyone know where to get bags to replace the ones that came with the pool steps? Our bags fell apart and no one seems to know where to get replacement ones.

You could just make new bags out of polyester or polyproplene rot proof fabric. And you can get playsand for like $1.50 a bag at a garden center. Stones or bricks might work but you could stub a bare toe on them or they could react with your pool chemicals and stain or discolor.

You need to get the right type of bag from you pool supply store.
The bag should be sligthly pourous. They sell here for around $8 per bag.

I wouldn't suggest playsand as it could cause damage to your pump.

She's using sand now. You do realize the sand is inside the bags, right, which are tied shut and attached to the frame of the pool ladder? My only concern is that play sand is not all that sterile which could lead to more algae but she's probably already using pool chemicals. Getting steam treated sand or builders sand would be more costly. 8 dollars for a special bag seems like a lot, I mean any fabric gets wet when you put it in water. Get an old pair of polyester pants, tie knots in the legs, fill and sew the top shut for a few cents.

I removed the vinyl caps from the ladder legs and filled the legs with cement. Seems to work pretty nice with no worry about bags breaking down the road.

You do realize that the sand in the bags is not sandbox sand right?

Now, lets just answer the question for these nice folks. Yes, you are right obviously. Go to a pool store. Look on the box the pool came in, look at the instructions for how to put it together to find an address, possibly even a website you can look at to order replacement parts. Go back to the store you bought it from and look at their boxes. Good Luck.
