Dear scruffer

How can anyone know that you are not lying just right here again?
Why do you expect others to waste time advicing you, while you most probably are lying?
May be you better should start convincing us of your good intentions first...

I'm in the same situation, I'm a compulive liar too and got caught and lost my partner... I'm now in counselling and working through what makes me do it. It's really helping and I hope that by continuing in this way I'll be able to show my ex that I can be the girl he loved at the start and then we can get back together. I think that you need to do this too... working out why you do it will help you to find ways to control it. If you don't want to go to a counsellor why not try and talk to someone around you who you feel that you can trust and tell your innermost feelings/fears to. Hope this helps.

I have to say that counselling is a great idea. We can give you advice, but we cannot get to the root of the problem, the thing that makes you lie. So whatever we say would be a temporary fix at best. See a cousellor and get some help.

Good luck.

You need to talk to a mental health professional... you probably have very low selfesteem and feel you aren't very interesting. I had a friend in high school who was a liar, and her tall tales seemed to serve her need to "be somebody".

Time to tackle the problem. :)
