There is this guy who's a grade older than I am who always says rude things to me and about me to his friends in front of me, things that are just a little hurtful and more annoying. The thing is I didn't do ANYTHING to him or his friends, in fact I barely talk to anyone in the grade, but I feel as in so many people IN THAT grade hate me. What should I do, I have a period with him everyday and it is the most awkward and unpleasant feeling in the world...

Well. You can either 1. Ignore him 2. be nice to him despite his actions towards you (my personal fav because it really messes with people heads to "turn the other cheek") or 3. talk to him about. 4. bring it to the attention of your teacher so she can watch for it and tell him to stop.

Ignore him, what he thinks of you means nothing, and if he talks about you like that, he talks about others also. So most people that know him, realise he merely lies about people. So no, most people don't believe him.

Ignoring doesn't always work in a closed environment. I understand that. If you CAN, you should, but it won't get better because the boys will feed off each other with rudeness. That can get unbearable, huh?

You can trick him, though. Confuse him... and his friends.

Get an old jacket or something from a lost and found somewhere. Walk up to him in front of his friends, hand it to him, and say, "Here, you left this at my house. See you later, cutie!" and SKIP away happily wthout looking back.

When you pass them in the halls, don't avoid them, walk right up to them and talk to them. Say "hi" to the other boys, then to the "rude" one... "Sorry, I'm not available this weekend after all. Maybe some other time."... And skip away.

Another time, say to one of the OTHER boys, "I don't like to date more than one person at a time, but it was sweet of you to ask."... and skip away. The boys will have no idea what is happening and are starting to distrust each other, too!

This can get fun. And either they will stop being mean cause you confuse the crap out of them, or they will start avoiding you out of embarrassment.

OR, they could start talking back and you may find you aren't enemies anymore, all because your fun spirit has more control in your life than their rudeness.
