Hello guys! I need HELP! I am doing my master degree in Human Resource and Knowledge Management in UK. Its time to choose my dissertation topic and I am very confused. I wanted to write about work ethics and how from protestant work ethic we now work for self actualisation. My supervisor gave me the following advice
"Think twice about the topic and consider the possibility of doing some more applied research in this area: something that has a good empirical component – such as Contemporary Images of Work as Therapeutic – or as an Odyssey, or some such. You can then link such investigations with HRM and its cultural functioning: how do such images mediate HRM processes? How do they become the main idiom of recruitment and selection, or performativity, or training and development (or HRD as is known), or whatever?... You get me on this? I am sure you see what I mean"

Can you make any suggestions for a better dissertation topic according to his advice? Thank you very much!

Here's an article on brainstorming (http://www.wikihow.com/Brainstorm). No offense, but a person operating at the grad school level in any discipline should know how to brainstorm topics and evaluate alternatives.
