View Full Version : RanchKing Lawn Mower - Will not turn over
Helping Dad

Sooo... my dad has a ranchking lawn mower, and the thing will not turn over using the ignition switch. If he connects battery cables to the starter from his vehicle battery it will start. Any ideas what might be wrong with it? It has a Briggs and Stratton I/C Quiet 14.5 motor in it. I appreciate any assistance you can provide.
Thanks!

Hi helping dad,
Could be the ignition switch or any of the satety switches, i.e.. Seat switch, clutch switch or blade switch. Check them out. Hope this is some help.

Or it could be the solenoid, or the fuse.

Thank you both for the response. Where would I find the fuse?

Huh! Just came up with the same problem, kind of. Mine is a 12 hp IC. Was running OK
When I parked it up by the house to change the plug and air filter for this year.
A big no-go after that. Not even a spark. NADA - NOTHING. Haven't tried jumping off the starter as of yet. Will try though.
I like the answer of a possible faulty safety switch. Logical. Did that work for your Dad's mower?
Any other idea's anywhere? Thanks
