I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct place, but here's the deal: I am a mentally handicapped person who bought a car this past Friday night when I was off my medications (pharmacy didn't fill in time)
I realize now that I can not afford this car at all... is there a way out?
I live in Santa Clara county, CA

Did you buy it from a lot? Did you get a loan to purchase it? Is it a lease?

It's a used car that I bought at a major dealer

Have you gone there to ask what your options are?

Did you take possession? Have you driven other than from the lot to home?

No, I didn't think it would be an option

no, I didn't think it would be an option
I would do that first, see what they can tell you.

This is forum, not a chat room, no need to ask if the person is still there, wait for their response. Thank you.

There's the three day deal which is up. If you had taken it back before Tuesday is the only option that I know of that you would have had other than consulting a lawyer.

Sorry Maxine; but if you find something else I'd really like to know. You might however try appealing to the salesman and the manager of the car lot; they really don't like bad publicity.

Ok, I'll try that. Thanks again

Given that you have used the car, your options are very limited. You have two options that I see. You can talk to the dealer and explain the circumstances and see what they will offer. Or you can try to get the media behind you, and hope the dealer doesn't want the publicity of possibly having taken advantage of someone with a handicap.
