Should be the same as a lawnmower. Go back and look at Mowerman's posts. He gave me detailed instructions on how to replace a pull string. It should work just about the same.

Remove the blower housing, pull the excess rope from the pulley, hold the pulley in place, some you may use vise grips to "clamp", others you may place a screwdriver through the openings to hold the pulley in place. Cut the rope, pull the knotted end from the pulley. Holding onto the pulley, remove the clamping, or chocking item, rewind the spring by turning the pulley. When you feel like you can turn no more, let it gently and slowly turn back one to one and a half turns. Then with the prepared rope, stick the rope from outside the blower housing through the hosing and through the pulley. Tie a knot in the end, pull from the outside of the pulley, tie a knot about a foot from the end of the rope where the handle goes, and let go. CautioN, watch that the rope don't smack you upside the face. Then test with spark plug disconnected. Then reroute the rope to the handle bar, put on your handle and whalah, you have done it.
