I have two cats One I adopted in November of 06 the other little guy I adopted in August of 07. The one I adopted in 06 got pink eye a month after I got him The vet gave me this antibiotic gel (sorry I don't have the name on me) and the pink eye cleared up in about a week and he's never gotten it again. The little guy I adopted in August 07 gets pink eye almost every other month. I take him to the vet they give the same medicine it goes away but it always comes back.

I am driving myself crazy trying to figure out what is causing this. I scoop the box out every day and completely wash out the box and change the litter once a week. I have had my apartment rugs steamed clean while the cats were not there but he still gets pink eye. Any idea's on what might be causing this.

When they found the cat I adopted in 07 they said his mother had abandoned him so I thought maybe he didn't get the right nutrition as a kitten. From what the shelter said he was pretty sickly when they got him and they didn't think he would make it. But other then the pinkeye he always gets, he is a very healthy playful little guy (and a little nuts :) ). I love the vet I go to, a lot of Dr.s and they are very caring but I just feel like they are missing something. Any suggestions on what I can do or maybe there is something I am doing to clear this up. Thanks!

I would go to your vet and explain the situation and then say "Is there anything that we are missing? Why does it keep coming back?" Maybe you need to do a culture and make sure that you don't have a more resistant strain of the bacteria. Maybe you need a second opinion. Vets will often do a little more if you tell them that you want to explore more options.
