I have the following equipment but I am not sure of the optimal connections in setting up the system.

Samsung LN-S4092D LCD HDTV
Samsung HD-DVD Home Theater System HT-TQ72
Explorer 8300 HD PVR Vidéotron Illico Receiver
2 HDMI cables
1 regular audio cable (white and red)

The LCD TV has 2 HDMI in ports, a DVI in port, component in ports and others.
HD-DVD system and HD PVR receiver each have 1 HDMI out ports, as well as component out ports and others.

I would like to watch regular TV with the sound coming through the home theater system speakers and surround sound. Of course, I want the same to watch DVD's in the HD-DVD system.

What would be recommended connections? Do I need to get other cables?

Thanks for any help!!

Jacques

Home Theater HDMI out to TV HDMI in.
If You have an HDMI in on receiver, hook to Videotron HDMI out to that.
IF not, you should have a stereo audio out and can go to Input on receiver.
Try this Link and read through Connection Guides and Connection Types:
Monster Cable Connection Guide - Home (http://www.monstercable.com/connection/)

just use an optical cable....

I suppose id use the optical cable from the Videotron receiver to the Home Theater System right? Since the single HDMI port on these two equipments is linked to the TV that has 2 HDMI ports.

Thanks!
