My sister died of cancer a year ago, leaving behind two sons and a daughter. I lived with my brother and law for a short period, trying to help with the children, but I found it difficult to get work done and very crowded. So I got my own house, and I took the youngest of the children (with my brother-in-laws permission) with me to care for. I also have my nephews on weekends. Recently I have noticed that my eldest nephew says he hates his father and asks to live with us. We have spoken to my brother-in-law but he won't allow it. I have also found it troubling that nearly every week my brother-in-law has a new girlfriend and is bringing her into the house and introducing her to the children. They get use to her but then she is gone. My eldest nephew also has attatchment disorder/anxiety because of his mothers death and possible because of the women that are constantly brought and then taken out of his life. In the last 6 months, my brother in law has also hired several nannies, only to discover that they are somehow mentally unstable or thieves. I believe that my brother-in-law has hired the nannies so he can spend time with his girlfriend of the moment. I am deeply concerned for my nephews well-being and am worried that he wants my niece back also. I am 18years old and I don't think my chances of getting custody are high, but I believe these children are being neglected and that it is a danger to their well-being. What are the chances of my getting custody of these children?

As the children's father, he has all legal rights, in fact if he showed up at your door you would have to give the child back to him.

You can try and gain custodyin court, butyou will have to prove he is unfit as a parent, and sadly his dating habits may not even be considered in some courts unless those women are a danger to the child.

You will need an attorney and understand it will be a long and costly battle
