I have had the thermostat off for a few months, but its starting to get hot here. Today, the blower motor came on by itself. I turned on the thermostat in cooling setting, but my blower motor would not turn on after the thermostat turned on the compressor. It's summer and very hot in my attic. Wnen I selected a lower setting on the limit switch (60-120) the blower moter came on even though the thermosta was turn off. I turned on the thermostat to cool. However, now the blower motor will not turn off after the thermostat clicks off. The blower runs all the time.

First you adjusted the control not a good idea put it back where it was.
wnen i selected a lower setting on the limit switch (60-120)

The blower motor came on by itself because the attic is hot and it triggered the blower because the settings are wrong OR the fan and limit control is defective.

You might have a bad fan relay for the A/C mode or a bad circuit board if so equipped.

I put the blower limit switch back to its original setting. After running the a/c this morning with a cooler attic, it seems to be working just fine. I think it I leave the thermostat in cool and let it cycle from now on, everything will be OK. Thanks.
