In smaller rating of vertical turbine pumps the pump thrust is taken care by the vertical hollow shaft motor by the bearing mounted at the top.
In case of large rating vertical turbine pumps the pump thrust is taken by the pump thrust bearing kept below flexible coupling & solid shaft motor is coupled.
My question is recenty I have seen that large pump catalouges do not show the thrust bearing at the top or they are silent about it. That means no thrust bearing is provided in pump and entire thrust is taken by the solid shaft motor through rigid coupling?
